THE FABRIC
The Cowrie is made from GOTS-certified organic combed cotton — custom woven and custom dyed exclusively for us. Not sourced off a shelf. Made to our spec.
Combed cotton means the short, rough fibres are removed before weaving — what's left is longer, smoother, and noticeably softer against your skin and your baby's. It's also more breathable, more durable, and less prone to pilling over time.
Because it's yarn-dyed rather than piece-dyed, the colour runs through every fibre — so it stays rich and true wash after wash.
And because it's certified organic, it's free from the harsh chemicals and toxins you don't want anywhere near a newborn.

Is the Cowrie worth the price compared to cheaper alternatives?

Will I actually feel confident breastfeeding in public?

I bought a dove grey Amor Mama Cowrie about a month after I discovered them and wish I’d bought it earlier. It’s made a huge difference in my comfort and confidence when it comes to feeding in public, especially as a nipple shield user who needs a little longer with the shirt up and bra down to set up before bub latches.
I love that it’s soft and breathable without being see-through + can be worn so that it’s long enough to cover bub’s body and feet if needed, without it getting too hot. Lovely to have enough room around the neck that I can peep down to see bub but not so much that I feel exposed too.
Made a huge difference to our recent travel interstate, as I had the confidence to feed anywhere + it didn’t take up a lot of space in the nappy bag and was easy to wash with the mesh carry bag.

I absolutely love this product, it’s one of those rare purchases I only wish I had made sooner. Admittedly, I was hesitant at first. After having a bad experience with trying to feed my baby in public, I remembered seeing the ad for this on Instagram and ended up buying two of them. I wanted to have them for our baby’s first flight and it truly was the best purchase. It helped me feed her wherever, whenever and it helped her sleep through take off and landing by reducing her light exposure. The fact that it’s so airy but has excellent coverage has really made it a dream to use in almost every instance we’ve needed it. I’ve only had my Cowrie for a few days, and I’m already amazed by its versatility with my preemie baby. I’ve used it as a sunshade, a protective barrier to keep germs at bay, breastfeeding cover in public during a hospital visit. It also doubled as a cozy blanket during a cardiology examination. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to get all the colours! So far, I have gray and sandshell, and they are simply divine. Highly recommend.
